Sharon Miranda has been developing the WebSpirit System in support of Community, Culture and Commerce since 2003. Beginning with a notebook of events and people, this exchange system is the result of years of networking and community trust in the Rogue Valley.
WebSpirit is an internet system which strives to enable each member to be self empowered, enjoy the greatest potential of the internet, make themselves visible to each other, form centers of interest, and to cause action. Using technology for empowerment and accountability, WebSpirit has worked to transcend the barriers between business and community. We continue to search for new ways to support a community journeying together toward the Next Paradigm.
As WebSpirit developed, it became clear that this region would greatly benefit from a form of locally valued exchange. The WebSpirit Announcements, Events and Community Marketplace prove the Rogue Valley to be a cornucopia of abundance which could easily support a self-sufficient economy. The announcement system is continually used to advertise goods and skills, but some avenues of exchange could be greatly enhanced with a system to track transactions to support a one-to-many barter system. A barter system within a membership structure provides efficient marketing, purchasing, business relations, and increases bottom line by activating idle inventory.
The OurNexChange system is a response to the community's needs, and a recognition of its capacity to thrive through an organized medium.
